Am I alone in feeling irritated that to use Cardiff Airport you have to get a taxi costing £50 each way and that the 'City' Council in Newport has not had enough about it to create a direct bus shuttle from the bus terminus to the Airport and back?

I haven't flown anywhere for over 5 years so this has never really affected me personally. But I would suspect that given the current number of issues we have with congestion and travel along the Welsh M4 corridor that providing a airport bus would pretty low on the list.

I know the M4 toll road has been scrapped so the current congestion to and from Cardiff will remain a problem for the immediate future.

Have you contacted your local councillor about this problem Diamond?

To be honest, no. But I noted Torfaen had Bristol airport as its local airport and contacted them about trying to make Cardiff more useful. I also contacted Cardiff airport. I got courteous responses but no joy. The reality is Heathrow is our local airport and Cardiff is just a lost opportunity.
